Ashley 750 (Austin 7)
Registration No. DG 8722

This Ashley 750 came to my attention in July/August 2015 whilst I was in England on a family visit.
David had seen the "Austin Seven Special's/sports/racers” group on Facebook along with a number of pictures and being an Austin/Ashley 750 owner and supplier to my website of many photo's and much information, sent me the photo's.
Within a week I received another email, this time from Kevin,
(new to me and my website),
with more photo's of the same car which he had just purchased.
He attached the following photo's,
which show a much cleaner & defoliated Ashley 750 as delivered,
by the looks of the trailer beneath it.

DVLA vehicle data (at this time there is none)
However there are some details:
Date of First Registration mid 1934 (Original Austin 7)
Year of Manufacture between 1955-60
Hopefully at some date in the future the car will be restored and re-registered with maybe the same registration number.

Then after another month Kevin sent an email with more questions and photo's, this time showing
a much cleaner Bodyshell and GT hardtop, of course the seats have suffered after around 50 years of neglect in the rather non weatherproof shed/barn.
The chassis, wire wheels, steel mounting frame and brackets would I imagine be just about rusted away and the engine is a non runner according to Kevin, which is not surprising after all the time unused.
,
Into the second week of September 2015 and I received another email, this time from Mark,
(another long time supporter of this website).
Awhile ago the car was advertised on a website preloved,co.uk he had contacted the owner and said that he would help extract the car with them if they wanted help.
Also that he would be prepared to buy the car then and there, as it was one of these Ashley 750 Austin Seven based cars that he have been looking for.
He spoke to them on a regular basis, and suggested that when they extracted the car from its location that they
should take as many photos as possible,
as it would be good to go along with the history of the car.

They gave him a date that the car would be ready to be taken out of the barn and that they would ring later that day, The next day came and he rang in the early evening only to be told that it had been sold.
He was very disappointed of course, but there seemed to have been some sort of mix-up in communications, but they had taken the photo's as Mark had suggested and they emailed them to him for display on this webpage.
My thanks to Mark, Mr Jones and his helpers for such great photo's.
Also to David Offer who also sent me four of the same photo's
that he had acquired a couple of weeks earlier.
It was two months later that I noticed a couple of Auctions,
one on eBay and the other on Gumtree.
They where both for this Ashley 750 and the ebay auction closed with a selling bid of £4,000.00 on 25 November 2015.
