1966 Ashley 750
Registration No. HUA 600D
The known story of this Ashley 750 came to light just recently,
whilst browsing through
some car groups on Facebook in
January 2022
and in the Austin Seven Group,
Simon Fixter
asked if Ashley bodied Seven's were counted as an A7.
After being reassured that is was, Simon posted the only photo he
has of his father Tony Fixter's Ashley 750 car.
When asked the Registration No. Simon said that it was
HUA 600D and that it was still listed on the DVLA database.
I searched my files but could not find any reference to it so asked
Simon if he had any other details as I would like to add it to my
Ashley 750 website.
I also checked the DVLA database as shown below.

Simon knows very little about the Ashley 750 but recall's this:
Ivor, unfortunately I know very little about the Ashley we had, my father Tony, who owned it died over 25 years ago.
He bought it as an unfinished project.
I do recall it having a tuned 750 and going very well and also during a test drive of it when my father braked hard the steering wheel came off in his hands!!
I think that is the only photo of it, but I'll have another look for you.
At the time that Simon's dad owned the car, during the mid 80's, he
was around 35ish and the Fixter family all lived
near Sleaford, Lincolnshire.
The Ashley's registration from 1966 indicates that it was
registered by the Leeds C.B.C.
As it was first registered in 1966 and Simon
thought it was an unfinished project then I suspect it
was a 20ish year later restoration project rather than an
original build project.
But that's only my assumption, but based on my time with
old cars and old car restorations.
