1959 Ashley 750 (Austin 7)
Registration No. OV 1990
I have no photo's of this Ashley 750 but I do know that it had a Red body in 1970 and would have
looked a bit like the photo above, although it may
also have had a Hardtop available for
the winter months.
The donor car was a 1931 Austin registered in
April 1931, it may have been a bit like this old
1931 Austin RM photo below, before being
rebuilt into the Ashley 750.

Note: It will often be found on current V5 / V5C’s that the ‘Engine Capacity’ is quoted as 858cc, this could refer to the Mk 1 Mini (Austin 7) and was an error introduced by DVLA when the Registration documentation was centralised in the 1970’s, or it could be as is sometimes quoted "With the engine replaced by a Reliant Robin
OHV 858cc used for better reliability".
However both cars of which appear to have had a 848cc engine.
